"Here she is at last, little Miss Candid!" Faith snapped.

Cordelia cringed. [Oh my God, she's mad at me. I thought she would be pleased now it's all out in the open. I hate it when she's cross, it wrinkles up her face.]

"You couldn't have told her a little white lie? You're an actress you know, very good at that sort of thing, she wouldn't have known. Now we're gonna get every bigot and crackpot in the country sending us hate mail, or worse. And it could stop your career dead in its tracks, just as it's getting started. Didn't you think of that? Well? Have you nothing to say for yourself? Or are you going to spend all day standing there looking sheepish?"

Cordelia, who had been staring at the carpet during this outburst, raised her head to speak.

"I couldn't lie to her, Faith. I've spent far too long denying my feelings as it is. I don't want to do it anymore. I wanted to tell her about us. Hell, I wanted to tell the whole world that I am with you, and that I love you very much."

Faith was taken aback by this declaration. She had been so angry that she had missed what Cordelia was actually saying, beyond the fact of coming out publicly.

"Oh - well - I guess it won't be too bad," she conceded. "The 'phobes have got to learn about us sometime I suppose - all right you're forgiven - but I'm not wearing a dress when we go to the premiere, okay?"

Cordelia grinned back. [I love it when she smiles, it's like the sun has come out.]

"Now exactly how much do you love me then?" Faith asked expectantly.

"Well, I can't tell you in words," Cordelia smiled seductively, "but I can show you. Let's go to bed and I'll demonstrate."

Faith's eyes lit up. "Oh good, I love your demonstrations."

"I know you do, as I love to feel the rough edge of your tongue," said Cordelia. [Though not when she's using it to shout at me.]

"Do you really?" Faith asked expectantly.

Cordelia raised an eyebrow. "Would I lie to you?" she said.
