Feedback: If you are inclined to give it I am inclined to receive it at cmfloresfd@yahoo.com

Author’s Notes: S this fics for you. This is also what happens when I spend the afternoon drinking too much artificial sweetener and otherwise indulging in other sorts of stimulants.

Enjoy.

Today marks twenty years of endless seas
and true I'm weathered from her storms
My sails are ragged but my sights are set
on the comforts of a more forgiving shore
and a life more worth living for.
~~~ Kristin Hall, Following My Compass
Do you still have the same phone number?
I hope you do because God I miss your voice.
Miss your laugh.
That sense of peace just listening to you gave me.
I wouldn’t be surprised if you’ve moved. Hell I’ve moved so many times that I barely know where I live myself.
I know that you’re still my home though.
Still my true north.
It’s been years.
My fault I know but I couldn’t do anything else.
I had no choice.
I couldn’t bear to read your letters or listen to your voice on my answering machine.
I couldn’t cry anymore.
I couldn’t have you so close and not touch you.
I couldn’t live near you and not see you.
I couldn’t see you with him.
I still can’t.
But God how I crave you.
Need you.
Need to feel whole.
Need your touch.
Need the silken caress of your voice.
Need to know that I am still loved and that someone still cares.
And is it fair to ask that of you. I don’t know but I’ll ask it in the name of what we once were to each other.
Because you’re my true north, the standard to which all others are held.
And I know that you won’t fail me.
^^ Hello ^^
It’s you thank God
Tell me a story I say without preamble or introduction.
^^ Sometimes people are blind to what’s in front of them. Often in that blindness they inadvertently cause pain to the one they least want to. Years ago there was a girl named Nicole and she was blind. There was a girl named Samantha and she was blessed with vision. At first the girls were enemies but later when they left behind the trappings of childhood and embarked on the journey of adulthood they met again. This time they became friends and this time it was Samantha who was blind and Nicole who was blessed with vision. ^^
** It’s a good story. **
^^ There’s more. ^^
** I’m listening. **
^^ There finally came a time when Nicole could no longer hold up the lantern that illuminated the path in front of Samantha because her arm was tired. They had walked the path so many times already, round and round. Nicole stepped off the path and at first Samantha didn’t even realize it. She continued walking in the ever-receding light Nicole carried away with her. Samantha wandered, lost, until one day suddenly the light reappeared. ^^
** Then what **
^^ I don’t know. Interested in co-authoring the rest with me. ^^
My compass in the dark.
