Subject: A lonely woman finds love where she least expects it.

Genre: Star Trek Voyager

Pairing: 7/f

Disclaimer: No infringement Intended. I own nothing except my computer, if you take that, expect a very hostile person. ;) While 1st Lt Gina Thomas, and Cmdr Mark Holt are my own creations, noone else is.

Gina Thomas was lonely. She had only been with her boyfriend for a week when she got transferred to Voyager and gotten herself lost in the Delta Quadrant. That was almost 7 years ago. And with a ship as small as this one, there were not many guys to choose from. All the good ones were already taken by this point… not that there were any decent ones to start with, she had pretty much resigned herself to a life of loneliness.

She had progressed in her work though. Now a 1st Lieutenant in computer engineering, her career was progressing pretty well. She just wished she had someone to spend it with.

Gina pondered her situation pretty much all the time. She was halfway decent at her work so it didn’t take a lot of thought. She spent most of her day in the computer core thinking about her last relationship and where they might have been by this time had she not been lost.

She was thinking about it more lately since the last data stream from the Alpha Quadrant. She had gotten a letter from her ex-boyfriend. He was married now with a 3 year old little girl. She was happy to learn he had waited almost 3 years waiting for her to return and moved on, but sad that she would never be with him again.

Gina looked up at the chronometer and saw it was 1600 hours. Turning to her supervisor she said her goodnight and left for the mess hall.

She was barely aware of her trip to the mess, she was so depressed. She grabbed a plate and walked over to Neelix.

“Lieutenant! Good to see you! You simply must try this new stew!”

She tried to smile because he was being so grotesquely chipper… as usual. But it came through hollow.

“Thank you Neelix.”

“Lieutenant? Are you alright? You seem a bit down. Anything I can do as Voyager’s official morale officer?” Neelix gave with a wry smile.

Neelix was being sweet. “No, thank you. I’ll be alright.”

“Well, ok. I hope you can find a seat, it is rather packed in here tonight.”

She turned around predictably and saw it was indeed pretty full. She managed to find a vacant table in the back corner. Sitting down she began to eat, still lost in her thoughts.

A few minutes later her dinner was interrupted when a tall shadow fell over her little table.

“Lieutenant Gina Thomas.”

Gina looked up and saw the infamous Seven of Nine standing in front of her table. Gina had only seen her once or twice. Since Gina was stuck in the computer core pretty much all the time, she didn’t get many opportunities to get out.

Seven was tall, blonde, and incredibly beautiful. And that skin-tight outfit she wore didn’t leave much to the imagination. Gina was immediately upset with Seven. She just wanted to eat by herself and be left with her thoughts. Plus there was the added fact that beautiful girls like Seven were the reason she was alone here.

A Vulcan would say she was being illogical. She didn’t care. She wasn’t a Vulcan.

“Lieutenant Gina Thomas” Seven repeated when she didn’t get an answer the first time. She seemed a little annoyed herself.

Seven obviously wanted to have a place to sit and eat. Gina realized it wasn’t Seven’s fault she was in a bad mood and being impolite.

Standing up, she motioned to the empty chair across from her. “I’m sorry, please. Have a seat. I’m just in a bad mood and being impolite.”

Seven seemed to soften at this and gracefully seated herself. “You should not.”

This confused the girl. “I should not what?”

“Be impolite. It is inefficient.”

“How so?” She said with a wry smile.

“Being impolite causes dissention and negative feelings. This leads to distractions in the workplace.”

“But being in a bad mood helps me work though emotional problems and can lead to a more productive workplace.” Let it never be said she didn’t score high on her StarFleet entrance exams.

“But it would be more efficient to work through emotional problems quickly and outside the presence of other individuals who might get annoyed.”

Gina smiled, Seven was quick. She realized she was suddenly in a good mood and was grateful.

“Thank you.” She said honestly.

“What for?”

“Well, I was in a bad mood and thanks to you, I’m not any more.”

Seven frowned. “I was merely stating a fact. I fail to see how I could have altered your mood in any way.”

Gina smiled at Seven’s cluelessness. How could one woman be so damn smart and yet so dumb at the same time? She just laughed.

Seven suddenly felt uncomfortable. To cover up for it, she simply stated, “We should ingest our nutrients at this time.” Gina started giggling and Seven’s frown deepened. Upon seeing Seven’s frown deepen, the girl started laughing out loud again. Seven was totally confused.

“Seven, I simply MUST thank you.”

Both women looked up and Gina saw her supervisor standing next to her holding a tray. She let Seven address the Commander.

“Commander Mark Holt, I am reluctant to ask this… “ shooting an annoyed look at the Lieutenant seated across from her, which made the Lt giggle even more. “… But for what?”

“Lt Thomas has been brooding around the core for a month now. I was starting to think she had forgotten how to smile again, let alone laugh. Thanks for lifting her spirits. I was pretty sure her bad mood would soon cause the computers to fail.”

“I doubt her ‘bad mood’ would affect the computer core and I still fail to see how I accomplished her mood alteration, but you’re welcome.”

“Well, thanks anyway. Gina, glad to see you’re in good spirits again. Maybe the core won’t seem so dismal any more?”

“Thanks Commander. I hope not.”

“Well, I must see if I can find a seat in this sardine can. Lieutenant. Seven.” Nodding his head goodbye.

“Commander.”

Seven simply nodded to the captain and returned to her meal.

* * *

For the rest of the week, Lt Gina Thomas was in excellent spirits. Every evening after her shift she ate at the same table as that first night. And every night, Seven of Nine sat across from her… even when there were other tables available. Sometimes they bantered like that first night. Sometimes they ate in compatible silence.

Gina enjoyed Seven’s company. She enjoyed it a lot… but she was still lonely. She was very grateful for Seven’s company but Seven couldn’t give her the kind of company she desired. The emotional and physical touch that only a lover can. She was still lonely. And while she was lonely, Seven managed to take some of that pain away. Albeit unknowingly. While Gina was grateful and unwilling to ‘look a gift horse in the mouth’, she really wanted to know why Seven chose to sit with her every evening.

Gina finally gathered her wits about her and decided to breach the subject.

“Seven, may I ask you a question?”

“You have never sought my permission before to ask a question.”

Gina laughed uncomfortably. “Yes, well… It’s kind of a way to let you know I want to ask you a serious question.”

“Very well, ask your question.”

“Why do you come and sit with me every night? I realize you didn’t have any choice the first time, and I don’t mean to sound ungrateful because I really enjoy having dinner with you… But you really don’t have to sit with me. There are other tables available. I would just like to know why?”

Seven thought about the question for a minute. Gina shifted in her chair uncomfortably when Seven spoke. “I do not fully understand it myself. I suppose it does not matter where I sit. I shall get my nutrition no matter where I sit. But when we first met, you were upset. And while I still do not understand why, My presence seemed to improve your mood. So if my presence improves your mood, thereby improving your duties, then I shall sit with you.” Seven was silent for a few seconds when she added, “Besides, your company is not… unpleasant.” Seven hung her head seemingly embarrassed.

Gina thought about Seven’s reply and realized Seven basically said she wanted to make her happy and liked her company. She felt honored and humbled. She suddenly felt tears coming to her eyes. Seven was turning out to be her first friend on Voyager.

Seeing the tears in the girl’s eyes, Seven became uncomfortable. Coming to the wrong conclusion, “Um… I must apologize. My goal was to make you feel better. I appear to have failed at my task. I’m… sorry. I shall eat somewhere else from now on.” Seven started to rise.

Gina realized Seven had misunderstood her reaction to her statement. Gina quickly grabbed Seven’s hand to stop her from leaving. “No! Please don’t leave. You don’t understand. I’m not upset. I am just so happy you wanted to help me. It overwhelmed me for a minute.”

“You started crying, that means you are upset again… “ Seven started to continue but Gina cut her off, still holding her hand.

“No, I’m not upset. Sometimes we cry because we are very happy. What you just said to me made me so happy so fast that I couldn’t help myself. Please sit down. You haven’t failed. If your goal was to make me happy, trust me. You’ve succeeded.”

Seven sat down uncomfortably.

“Seven, Thank you so much for what you said. Just knowing someone wants to make me feel happy, asking nothing in return, it means a lot to me. And I love your company too. You’re the first real friend I’ve had here on Voyager.”

Seven’s eyes got wide. “You think of me as a friend?”

Gina smiled, “Yes, I do.”

“So, I didn’t make you upset?” Seven hung her head in embarrassment.

Gina squeezed Seven’s hand, causing the former Borg to look up. Gina looked into her eyes. “No, you didn’t. And I AM your friend.”

Seven looked down in embarrassment as she quietly said, “I would like you as a friend.” Seven looked up at Gina and actually gave her a small smile.

Gina saw her smile and returned it brightly. She hated to break the moment but she had to. “Well, shall we ‘ingest our nutrients’?” Giving Seven a wry smile.

Seven returned the wry smile, “We shall.”

* * *

For the following month, Seven and Gina had routinely ate dinner together. They talked about their duties, Seven talked about her troubles dealing with the crew. Gina talked about her duties, and her hopes for the future. They had become a fixture in the mess hall.

As their seventh year in the delta quadrant approached, Gina started to become more and more depressed. One night, Seven walked into the mess hall and noticed Gina wasn’t at their usual table. She proceeded to sit down anyway to wait. After 30 minutes when she didn’t show up, Seven was concerned.

“Seven of Nine to Lt Thomas.” There was no response from the comm system. “Seven of Nine to Lt Gina Thomas, please respond.”

It was very unlike Gina not to show up for dinner, and since she was not responding to her hails, Seven was getting worried.

“Computer, locate Lt Gina Thomas.”

“Lt Thomas is in her quarters.” The computer responded automatically.

“Computer, location of Lt Thomas’ quarters.”

“Lt Thomas’ quarters are on deck 3, section 12 beta. Room 119”

Seven immediately turned and proceeded to the nearest turbo-lift. “Deck 3” she spoke to the lift.

As she proceeded to the Lt’s quarters, she became more and more worried. *was she hurt? Incapacitated? Sick?* Seven didn’t know why it bothered her so much that Gina didn’t show up for dinner. She only knew she had to find her.

As she approached the Lt’s quarters, a single tear made its way down the ex-Borg’s cheek. Pressing the call button outside room 119, she waited a few seconds. She pressed it again. There was no response.

“Lieutenant? Are you all right?” Seven’s voice broke with emotion. “Gina, please tell me if you’re all right.”

She waited for a second, she had to get in now. “Computer, override…”

Seven never finished her statement when the door opened revealing Lt Thomas, Still in her uniform, crumpled, hair a mess, her tear streaked face and eyes red from crying.

“Seven?” Wiping her tears away in vain. “What’s wrong?”

Seven was extremely confused. It seemed her emotions were out of control. She tried to get a handle on them without any success.

“You didn’t show up for dinner and you didn’t respond to my hails.”

“I’m sorry, I just didn’t feel hungry. Come in please.”

Seven hesitantly walked into the quarters. She turned away from the other girl and tried to wipe the tears from her own face.

Gina saw Seven’s movement, “Seven? Turn around.”

Seven slowly turned and looked down at her feet. Gina walked up to Seven and placed her hand on Seven’s chin, gently lifting the woman’s face where she could see her. She saw Seven had been crying.

“Seven? Why are you crying?”

Seven was very embarrassed. “I was afraid… you were hurt… when you didn’t answer. I do not understand what is wrong with me. My ocular implants must be malfunctioning… as well as other things. I… want to hold you… make sure you’re all right.” Seven said shyly.

“Oh Seven, I’m so sorry I worried you!” Gina reached around the woman, pulling her into a tight hug. “I’m so sorry!”

Seven sighed deeply and relaxed in the woman’s embrace. They simply held each other for several minutes before Gina pulled back a bit, arms still around the woman. She placed her hand on Seven’s cheek, caressing it.

“Are you all right now?”

Seven leaned ever so slightly into the hand on her cheek, and felt something stirring deep within herself. Quickly extracting herself from Gina’s intimate embrace, she stumbled back, “Yes, I will be fine.” She quickly exclaimed.

Seven was getting more and more confused. All these emotions she was feeling were confusing to no end. Sadness, terror, and this thing now in her stomach. Turning to the problem at hand, “What is wrong? Why where you crying?” She felt grateful for the change in topic.

Gina moved over to the sofa and sat down. Seven sat at the far end of the sofa, looking at the other woman expectantly.

Gina sighed, “I miss David, today it has been seven years since I last saw him.” Fresh tears appeared in the woman’s eyes.

“David was your mate?”

“He was my boyfriend. I’d only known him for a few weeks before we got lost. But it was beautiful what we had. I haven’t had anyone since then, and I miss him so much.”

Seven didn’t know what to do to console the girl. She moved over and sat next to her and placed her hand on the girl’s shoulder. Gina responded immediately. She turned into Seven, embraced her and began to cry in earnest, face buried in Seven’s neck. Seven felt it was best to let the other girl cry. The girl cried for several minutes before she fell asleep in Seven’s embrace.

Seven felt happy that the other girl trusted her and felt comfortable enough with her to open up like that. But she couldn’t ignore the deep stirrings within her. Gently lifting the girl into her arms, she carried her over to her bed and tucked her in. Before she knew what she was doing, Seven leaned down and gently kissed the girl on the forehead.

“Seven…” the girl whispered happily in her sleep.

Suddenly realizing what she had done, the feeling within her became much more intense. She stumbled back and quickly left.

* * *

Lt Thomas didn’t know why she was in such a good mood after last night. She couldn’t remember what had happened after crying on Seven’s shoulder. She just felt bad that she had placed Seven in such a bad position. She felt she had to make up for it. She looked at the chronometer and saw that it was 1530 hours. Her shift would be ending soon. Coming up with a quick plan…

“Lt Thomas to Seven of Nine.”

“Seven of Nine here, Yes Lt?”

“I want to apologize for last night, instead of dinner in the mess hall, could you meet me at my quarters tonight, say 1700 hours?”

“Very well, I shall see you then.”

Gina smiled to herself. She had to make a great dinner. Her thoughts were interrupted…

“Big date tonight?”

“Capt Holt. No, just dinner with Seven.”

“You’re not eating in the mess? It won’t be the same without you guys sitting in the corner.”

Gina laughed. “I guess you’ll have to just make do without us. I kinda had a mental breakdown on her last night and I want to make her dinner to apologize.”

“We can make do without you for the rest of your shift. Why don’t you take off for the weekend? Give yourself a little more time to get ready?”

“Thank you so much!” she cried happily before almost running out the door.

* * *

It was just before 1700 hours. Gina had everything perfect. White linen, candles, and she had slaved over the replicator program for the past hour, getting the perfect meal ready. At precisely 1700 hours, the door chime rang predictably.

“Open.” The door opened and Seven was standing there looking nervous. “Come in Seven.”

“Thank you Lieu…” Seven started before the other girl cut her off.

“Gina. Please call me Gina when we’re off-duty.”

“Of course… Gina” Seven said… testing the name… realizing she liked it.

“Please have a seat. Dinner will be ready in a few minutes.”

Having a seat, Seven looked at the elaborate table setting. “You didn’t have to do this. This must have cost you quite a few replicator rations.”

“Seven... This is just my way of apologizing. I dumped my problem on you last night and I’m very sorry.”

“It’s all right Lieu… Gina… we could have eaten in the mess hall.”

“Doing it this way makes it special. Doing something special for you after you’ve done so much to help me, asking nothing in return… makes me happy.”

Seven smiled and Gina spoke up before the other girl could respond. “Besides, it MUST be a welcome change from Neelix’s cooking.”

“I can’t argue with that.”

The computer then beeped. “There’s dinner. I hope you like it. It’s something my mother used to make for me.”

“I’m quite sure it’ll be more than adequate.” Seven said with a smile.

* * *

After dinner, they both sat on the sofa. Gina looked over at Seven and smiled at her. Seven grew uncomfortable again.

“Gina, may I ask you a question?”

Gina knew it was serious since Seven used her own question. “Of course.”

“We’re friends correct?”

Gina placed her hand on Seven’s arm. “Of course we are! You’re my best friend!”

Seven looked into Gina’s eyes and smiled. The smile quickly faded. “I’m having problems, I was hoping you could assist me.” Seven whispered, her head hung low.

Gina moved closer to Seven. “Of course I will help you. Anything. Just ask.” Seven was obviously very nervous. Gina didn’t know what to do. “Seven, whatever it is, I will help in any way I can.”

“Thank you Gina. You see… Ever since we first met, I’ve been experiencing so many different emotions, I do not know what they all are or how to deal with them. You say you’re my friend, I’m not sure what that really means, I just know it pleases me. I also want to help you with your problems but I don’t understand relationships like friendship, or what you called your ‘boyfriend’.”

“Seven, of course I will help you. You’re my best friend and I love you. It will be my pleasure.”

“You love me? You wish to mate with me?” Seven exclaimed her eyes wide and breath became short.

“No! I think that will be the first thing we discuss. Look, I have the next few days off, why don’t we take some holodeck time and go over some scenarios? Say, 0800 hours?”

“That would be greatly appreciated. Thank you… Gina. Well, it’s getting late. I should depart. Thank you for dinner, it was… very pleasant.”

“We’ll work on your terminology also.” She laughed.

They both stood up and moved towards the door. Gina gently pulled Seven into a warm embrace. “Thank you so much for coming. I had a wonderful time.”

Seven relaxed in the girl’s arms, and giving in to the feelings, hugged the girl tightly. Before pulling away, Gina moved her face up to the other girl’s face and gently kissed her on the cheek.

“Good night Seven.”

“Good night Gina.”

As the door closed behind Seven of Nine, the ex-Borg’s hand moved up to touch the spot where she had just been kissed. She was definitely going to look forward to her instructions tomorrow. She really hoped Gina could help her sort through these emotions.

* * *

Gina was waiting in Holodeck 3 when at precisely 0800 hours, the doors opened.

“Well, that’s one thing in your favor, you’re definitely prompt.”

“Why would I be otherwise?”

“Why indeed.” Gina laughed. “Well, shall we get started?” Seven nodded. ”Ok, you want to learn about what… relationships?”

“Yes, please.”

“Ok, well, let’s get comfortable.  Computer. Run program ‘Gina-one’.”

Around them suddenly appeared an outdoors park setting. Gina sat down on a blanket that had been laid down on the soft grass. Seven sat across from her.

“Relationships. That’s a biggie. There are many different kinds of relationships…” she began.

“Gina, I am aware of the different kinds, I wish to know how people interact differently in different relationships.”

“Well ok, that narrows it down a lot. People don’t interact much at all in the lower relationships like casual acquaintances… So I’ll start with friendships… like us.”

“That would be fine.” Seven gave Gina her full attention.

“Friends are people you feel comfortable with, people you like spending time with, people you can talk about your problems with.  They help each other. They care about each other and love each other.”

“Love each other… they mate?”

“No, um…”

“Please explain ‘love’.”

“Whew!  That’s a biggie.”

“What do you mean? Just define it.”

Gina laughed out loud.  “You can’t simply define ‘Love’. People have tried to explain love for thousands of years to no avail.” When Seven frowned at this, Gina continued; “Ok, Love. Uhm… Love is the greatest of all emotions.  It can be anything from a very small emotion to something that fills your entire being.

“Like this… Computer create two fudge Sundays.” The Sundays appeared on the blanket before her. Lifting one up, she took the spoon and scooped some of the fudge and placed it in her mouth. Gina’s eyes rolled back in her head and she sighed in contentment. She was obviously enjoying the sweet treat. Seven watched in fascination. “Ok, this is a great example of simple love. I love chocolate and fudge.  It simply means I get a great deal of enjoyment eating it.”

Seven picked up the other Sunday and repeated Gina’s actions. Placing the fudge in her mouth hesitantly, she tried to experience it. She tasted the sweetness of it, she could analyze its structural makeup… but eating it… she found herself happier. She couldn’t resist smiling.

Gina saw Seven smile, “It’s good huh? I guess we found something you love too.”

“Yes, it is very interesting. It seems to improve my mood a great deal.”

“Yea, it’s a thing about chocolate. I haven’t seen a female yet where chocolate didn’t improve their mood.”

Seven took another spoonful and placed it in her mouth, she closed her eyes and smiled. “I like this a lot.”

“Don’t eat it too much, or it’ll go right to your butt.” Seven frowned. “Sorry… bad joke.  Let’s continue.  Ok, that’s a good example of simple love.  I love to eat chocolate, I love to play with dogs, ride horses.  I love to watch the sunset.”

Seven nodded in understanding. “Things like those give you great pleasure, so you love them.”

“Precisely. There’s nothing more to simple love than that.  Now as I said, there are all different levels of love. Friendships are one.  I love my friends. I would do anything for them. I gain great pleasure just being with them. I love to listen to them, I love helping them, I love talking to them. Now as much as I love chocolate, if I was with one of my friends and they simply abhorred chocolate, I would never eat it around them because I love them.”

“So, you love them more than you love chocolate. And not eating it around them makes you happier because you care about their feelings.”

“Yes! You learn quickly.” Seven smiled at the praise. “Ok. Let’s continue. While I love my friends and would do almost anything for them, I love my family even more. My love for my family is even greater. If somehow I had to choose between my friends and my family, my friends would lose.  My family is a part of me, and always will be. They have the same blood as me. That’s what is called ‘blood ties’.”

“I think I understand.”

“Now a ‘mate’ as you call it is another thing entirely. When you meet someone you care about a great deal, maybe you started as friends but it progressed to something… more… you fall in love with them.”

“Please explain ‘In love’.” Seven asked confused.

“Ok… Uhm… when you’re ‘In Love’… It’s hard to explain.  You feel this hunger for them. It starts out as this fluttering in your stomach, it’s what they call ‘Having butterflies in your tummy’.”

Seven’s eyes grew wide. Gina had just explained exactly what she was feeling! “So, friends can be ‘In Love’?”

“Well, yes.  Just because they are in love, doesn’t mean they have to act on it. If they don’t, they might be uncomfortable and eventually they might get over it as long as they don’t act on it.  Once they act on it, there’s no going back.”

“Explain.”

“It’s called ‘Crossing the line’. If a friend crosses the line and acts on their feelings of love, and their love is not returned, their friendship may be ruined. Some people cannot handle going back to being ‘Just Friends’ after expressing their love. They get scared and sometimes choose not to act on it.”

“So isn’t it better to not express those feelings, and not risk the friendship?”

“Not always. If their love is expressed and retuned, then it is the greatest thing of all!  Yes, there is a great risk in expressing love. But IF it is returned, the benefits are tremendous!”

“But how do you know you’re in love with another person?”

“It can’t be explained. You just know. It’s been said that if you think about another person more than you think of yourself, then you’re in love with them. But that’s a gross misunderstatement of love. You feel this hunger for them. You always want to be closer to them than you currently are, physically, emotionally, spiritually... When I was in love with my boyfriend, I could sit and stare at him all day. If I went too long without him, I simply ached for his touch. And when he did touch me… it was pure heaven!”

“And you mated with him?”

“Yes, I ‘made love’ to him.  When two people are in love, sex becomes very intense and pleasurable. It enhances their love and… it can’t be explained. It makes you feel so incredibly happy.”

“So, since you’ve been separated from your boyfriend, you miss this feeling.”

“Yes. I miss being in love.”

“Is there no male here who can give you this?”

“No, I haven’t found anyone yet.  But it doesn’t necessarily have to be a guy.”

Seven brightened at this. “But sex cannot produce children between two females.”

“Now you’re going off on a tangent.  Sex between two people in love isn’t solely for reproduction. It’s to express their love for each other.”

“So, is there no female here you can be in love with.” Seven asked shyly, lowering her head.

“Well, I’ve never thought of women that way.”

“So you’re not homosexual?”

“I would have to say no, I like men, but don’t know if I like women. I might be bi-sexual I suppose.”

“How do you know if you like women, men, or both?”

“You have to be exposed to it, and if it turns you on, then you know you like it.”

“Turns you on?”

“It gets you sexually excited.”

“I don’t understand that idea.”

“Ok, if you’re willing, lets try an experiment.”

“Of course.”

Gina stood up and took Seven’s hands, pulling her to her feet. Seven looked into Gina’s eyes expectantly. She didn’t know what to expect...

Gina spoke up, “Computer, create character ‘Greg 3’.” Next to them suddenly stood a very handsome man in Gina’s opinion. Gina knew if Seven liked men, this guy would let her know.  “Animate new character.”

Greg turned to Seven, took her hand, looked into her eyes, “May I hug you?”

Seven wasn’t sure how to react to him. “Proceed.”  Greg took Seven into his arms and held her close. Seven quickly decided she didn’t like it, it was uncomfortable, annoying. She extracted herself quickly and exclaimed “Computer delete character!”

“Didn’t like him huh?” Gina gave Seven a wry smile.

“No, it was uncomfortable. Annoying. It felt… wrong.”

“Well, if you don’t like men sexually, that’s a perfectly normal reaction.  Let’s try the other end of the spectrum.  Computer, create character ‘Yvette 2’”. To the other side of Seven appeared a very beautiful woman. “Animate character.”

Yvette took a shy step towards Seven. “You are so beautiful. Please… may I hold you?”

Seven looked into her eyes, “Yes.” Yvette smiled and gently took Seven into her arms.  As before with Greg, it felt uncomfortable. It wasn’t right either. She stepped back, “Computer, delete character.”

“You don’t like her either? That’s strange. You have to like either men or women. Maybe if we try different types of men and women…”

Seven let Gina speak for a moment. Seven closed her eyes and thought of holding someone in her arms. She thought of this mysterious person who would make her stomach flutter. She thought of being in love with this person. She let the feeling fill her up. In her mind, she looked up into the face of this person and she saw…

“You.” Seven whispered.

Gina wasn’t listening to her so she didn’t catch what Seven said. “I’m sorry… what did you say?”

Seven looked intensely at Gina. She saw her in a new light. Gina was very beautiful. She felt the butterflies. She had to know.

“Gina, I would like to try an experiment of my own.”

“You have an idea?  Go ahead.” Gina was eager to see what Seven came up with.

Seven stepped up to Gina so they were only inches apart. Gina looked into Seven’s eyes with wonder. The Lt’s breath was becoming short and labored. She felt the fluttering in her stomach. Seven was incredibly beautiful, especially this close. She stared into Seven’s eyes and whispered “Oh my!”

The fluttering in Seven’s stomach was becoming so intense… it settled into a steady burning. She felt the hunger. Her eyes roamed all over the other girl’s face. Studying her eyes, hair, lips… Seven whispered to Gina, “You are so beautiful. Please. May I hold you?” Seven’s voice broke with need as she asked this.

Gina knew she had no choice. She had to agree. Silently nodding to the other woman, Seven started shaking as she took the woman into her arms. Gina’s arms went around the woman and held her close. Her hands ran across the woman’s back. She could feel the other woman’s heart beating faster and faster. Seven’s full breasts pressing into hers. Gina leaned into the other woman. Her cheek softly rubbing against the other woman’s cheek.

The feelings Seven was experiencing put it all into place. She felt the need, the hunger, the desire. She knew what she wanted. She pulled back slightly, her arms still around Gina.  She looked deep into Gina’s eyes, saying quietly “I know what I love, I do not love men or women.”

Gina stared into Seven’s beautiful eyes. “Oh.” Suddenly downcast. She started to pull away but Seven stopped her and held her tightly.

Seven smiled at the woman, “I do not love men or women. I am in love with you.”

An incredible feeling of love welled up in Gina. Love for this woman! The love was a hundred times richer and deeper than what she felt for her ex-boyfriend… and she was lost in it. “Oh Seven… I’m in love with you too!”

The smile in Seven’s face was brighter than anything Gina had seen before. ”Oh Seven!  I love you so much!”

“Gina, I love you too.”

Seven didn’t know how to proceed from here. Luckily Gina did. Gina slowly leaned in. When their lips were just about to meet, she whispered to Seven, “I love you.” And pressed her lips to the other woman’s.

The feelings running through Seven intensified a hundred-fold. The softness of the other woman’s lips against hers were almost more than she could handle.  Her arms tightened, her lips pressing, questing, seeking. Gina pulled back slightly and licked the other woman’s top lip.

Seven moaned at the contact. She released her own tongue, and met with the other. Their tongues softly caressed each other. Their mouths pressed together tightly as their tongues dueled. They separated breathless.

Gina stumbled back, “Wow!”

Seven moaned at the loss of contact. “I need more. Please let me touch you… Please?”

“Let’s go back to my quarters.”

Once in the Lt’s quarters, they couldn’t hold back any longer. They practically threw themselves at each other. Their hands roaming and lips crashing against each other. Both girls moaned and stumbled into the bedroom, their lips never breaking contact. They fell onto the bed. Gina on top of Seven. “Oh my god!  I want you so much!”

Gina’s hands slid up Seven’s body until they grasped the woman’s full breasts. Seven moaned loudly, her breath coming in short gasps. Gina’s lips went to Seven’s neck and proceeded to kiss every spare inch of skin she could reach. Seven’s hands were moving completely on their own. One slid down and grasped the girl’s ass, the other  grabbed the girl’s neck and pulled her up to her face again. Gina moaned into Seven’s mouth as Seven squeezed Gina’s ass.

After a few minutes, Seven released the girl’s mouth. Gina whimpered at the loss of contact, “Gina, I need to touch you.”

“Oh, Seven… you are!” she gasped.

“No… skin… I need... to… feel… you!” By this time Gina was slowly grinding into Seven. Gathering her resolve, Seven Sat up so Gina was straddling her and Seven began to quickly undress her.

After the fastest undressing in history, both women were completely nude. Gina sitting on Seven. Both women simply stared at each other… speechless and in awe of the beauty before them.

“Seven… you are…the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.”

“Annika.” Seven Whispers.

“Who’s Annika?”

“Me. Annika Hansen. My human name before I was assimilated. I wish you to call me Annika.”

“I love you Annika.”

“I love you Gina.”

Reaching down, Gina slid one arm under the woman’s waist, pulling her up. Leaning down, she lightly kissed the woman’s left breast before sucking it into her mouth. Sliding her other hand southward, she begins to run Annika’s mound.

Seven was in ecstasy. The moaned loudly and threw her head back, while leaning into the girl. Gina then moves over to the other breast… not wanting it to be left out.  Lying the other woman down, she proceeds to lick the valley between the woman’s breasts and inserts a finger in Annika’s love canal. Annika begins to arch her back, seeking more contact.

Gina lowers Annika back to the bed and looks into the eyes of her new lover. Her lover’s eyes are clouded over with lust. Gina lowers her lips to the woman’s and inserts a second finger, pumping. Annika’s cries are swallowed by her lover as she orgasms. After a few minutes of gently bringing the other girl down, Annika smiles.

“Oh my!”

“Wow… isn’t THAT the understatement of the year?”

Annika laughs at the other girl before her gaze burns with lust. “I believe it is YOUR turn.”

“Oh!” Gina whimpers.

After several hours of intense love-making, both women lie content in each others arms. Gina’s hand softly caressing Annika’s breast. Occasionally the two women will kiss softly.

Sighing in contentment, Annika looks deep into Gina’s eyes. “May I ask you a question?”

Gina giggles softly. “You don’t have to ask me first every time. I love you, just ask.”

Annika softly kisses her lovers lips. “I wish to make you an honorable woman.”

Gina looks into the woman’s eyes slightly confused.

Seeing her confusion, Annika tries to clarify. “I believe that is the correct vernacular?” Annika’s face covered with embarrassment.

Gina softly caresses Annika’s cheek. “Oh Annika… are you asking to marry me?” her eyes wide.

“Yes. I wish to ‘marry you’. I wish to be your wife.”

Looking at the woman below her, Gina saw nothing but love emanating from the ex-borg-now-human woman below her. She knew she loved her with all her heart. And she wanted it to last forever. She also knew her answer was…

“Yes.  Yes, I’ll marry you!”

The door chime to Captain Janeway’s ready room beeped, announcing someone requesting entry. “Come!”

“Seven! Lt Thomas. What can I do for you?”

Gina let her love answer. “Captain, I… WE… wish to ask you for a favor.”

“I understand the two of you have become close friends. Neelix tells me the last few days, the mess has seemed out of place without you two sitting in the corner.” Janeway said with a smile.

“We are more than friends now Captain.” Gina tells shyly.

“Oh?” The captain’s eyebrows rise.

Seven takes Gina’s hand into hers and squeezes it firmly. “Yes, captain.” Looking into her love’s eyes, “We wish for you to marry us.”

“Oh, Seven… I’d be honored!”

“Annika, please.” Annika says quietly.

“Annika. I’m glad to see you finally taking to your original name.  And I’d love to marry you two.  Congratulations!”

Several months later… In front of their closest friends… Captain Janeway continues…

“… and by the power invested in me by Starfleet Command, I now pronounce you wife … and wife. You may kiss your bride.”

The two women lean in to kiss softly as their friends all cheer.

Speaking to the crowd, “I now present to you, Annika and Gina Hansen-Thomas!” Janeway says with a flourish.

After many hours of dinner and partying, Annika and Gina Hansen-Thomas retire to their beach-house in the holodeck, where they will begin their two week honeymoon.

Sitting down on the couch in the living room, Annika takes her new wife into her arms. “I never thought I could feel this wonderful.”

“I never thought I could love again after getting stranded here. I lost everyone that cared for me. With little or no possibility of finding love again, My world looked very bleak. Then you came and sat down at my table and changed my life. Suddenly my dark, bleak world was bright and glowing with possibilities. You came into my life, and saved me! My friend, my lover, my wife. I love you so much.”

The tears were falling Annika’s face. “Oh, Gina… You are my friend, my lover, and my wife. And I’ll always love you.”

Both women were crying with joy. Annika stands up, takes both of her wife’s hands in hers. “Come to bed.”

“But I’m not tired.” Gina says with a smirk.

“Neither am I… Come… ‘Resistance is futile’.”

Both girls laugh and race to the bedroom… anxious to begin the rest of their lives together. Gina thinks, ‘Suddenly, being stranded in the Delta Quadrant doesn’t seem so bad.’

The End.
